The Rotaract Club of Cologne and the Rotaract Club Kasr el Nile are doing a joint development project. As a member of Rotaract Club of Cologne I’m very happy to be part of this service project.
The goal is to make a sustainable improvement of the conditions of life for residents of the Village of Gezirat Mohamed, a poor area in greater Cairo area in Egypt. With that the population growth shall be slowed down.
The project consists of 5 parts.
1. Alphabetisation
2. Basic medical education (sexual education family planning)
3. Primary health care
4. Professional education (Sewer, trader, poultry farmer, etc.)
5. Setting up business by micro loans
The project budget is 32,500.00 US-Dollar. A similar project exists since 2001 in Alexandria and has written a impressive success story.
